AOC Cabernet d’Anjou
Château de la Guimonière covers an area of 19 hectares; a total of 16 hectares are planted with Chenin Blanc, appellation Coteaux du Layon, and 3 hectares are planted with red wines Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. These vineyards are perched over the Layon on southward-facing land of shale and sandstone. They awaken in autumn in the morning fog, later warmed up by the sun's rays, thus benefiting from an ideal microclimate for developing overripe harvests.
Depending on the climate and the ripeness of the grapes, the 16 hectares of Chenin Blanc can either produce a dry white Anjou or a Coteaux du Layon Chaume. On the 3 hectares planted with red grapes are produced a red Anjou and Cabernet d'Anjou.
Great sweet wine of the Loire region, the Château de la Guimonière – AOC Coteaux du Layon Chaume has a bright golden yellow colour. Its nose is intense and complex and is dominated by fragrant notes of exotic fruits. The lightness and smoothness of these fruity aromas are associated to bring a long finishing note.
The Château de la Guimonière Anjou Blanc is a dry wine with a pale yellow colour and hints of green, with a floral, balanced and fresh nose, and yellow fruits and honey notes. This full bodied and smooth wine keeps an unrivalled freshness that pairs perfectly with a grilled fish or seafood.
The Château de la Guimonière Cabernet d’Anjou with its luminescent colour and orange reflections has berries notes and a refreshing taste, both smooth and crisp.
The Château de la Guimonière Anjou Rouge, with its aromas of ripe black fruits and its dense colour, has a velvety, soft and elegant attack with a crispy fruit fragrance.
