Grand vin de Loire
100 % Chenin
Planted exclusively with Chenin Blanc, the seven hectares of Château de Varennes are at the heart of the Savennières appellation, on the right bank of the Loire. The vineyard enjoys beautiful south-southeast exposure, guaranteeing exceptional sunlight.
On the slope, the soil consists of shale and sandstone, giving the wine exceptionally richness. Its robust structure permits several years of aging, during which the vine will flourish.
The harvest is manual, with a minimum of two successive selections of bunches. The wine-making process at Château de Varennes is traditional, with gentle pressing followed by fermentation in oak barrels.
With a magnificent golden yellow colour with hints of green, its nose impresses with its intensity and the richness of its nuances of white flowers and lime tree, ripe fruit and spice. A sleet and balanced wine, it has a sweet and fresh attack on the palate with a great intensity that comes with nuances of hazelnut and apricot. The final note is subtle and mineral.
